i have a blackberry pearl cell phone that has a GPS car tracker software on it. it works pretty good too.. but i would check on ebay.
A GOOD vehicle tracker is not going to be cheap since it really is important to make sure the product you are buying is functional when you need it.
With that said, you can try renting a GPS tracking system from GPS4Rent at and select the tracking system you wish to rent.
If you only need it for a weekend or a week, it would be cheaper to rent it since tracking system that you can track real time requires a subscription service much like the cell phone and it may not be worth it if for you to commit to a contract if you are not sure you really need it for a year or two.
