garmin makes a gps receiver and software to turn a laptop into a gps. i believe it is right around $100
You can purchase gps devices to attach to your laptop. Best Buy sells them. You can also check out online stores like newegg.com or tigerdirect.com GPS prices have come down recently, you might be able to pick one up that can work worldwide.
